In 1823 the poet Dionysios Solomos (a distinguished poet from Zakynthos Island) wrote The ” Hymn to Liberty “ that consists of 158 stanzas . In 1825, the first two stanzas officially became the the national anthem of Greece.

The Lake Trichonida (or Vrachori) is the largest lake in Greece 95 km2 (apart from Megali Prespa, a small part of which belongs to Greece).
